Email supportPurchases & Premium
I bought Premium but the catalogue is still locked
Apple or Google manages the purchase, and RevenueCat links Premium access to your Optophone account. Sign in to the same app account, then use Restore Purchases with the Apple ID or Google account used for the original purchase:
- Open Optophone → Profile → Restore Purchases.
- Make sure the device is signed in to the App Store / Google Play account used for the original purchase.
- If you bought on another device, use the same Optophone account. Restoring a store purchase requires the original store; an Apple purchase cannot be restored through Google Play.
Premium unlocks the full catalogue — all 1,264 sounds, all 110 scenes and all 1,298 visualizers. The monthly subscription, the yearly subscription and the one-time lifetime purchase all unlock exactly the same thing.
Subscriptions
Manage or cancel a subscription
Subscriptions are billed and managed by the platform you purchased from, so cancellation happens there — not inside the app:
- iOS / App Store: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Optophone → Cancel Subscription.
- Android / Google Play: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Optophone → Cancel.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel before the renewal deadline shown by your store; Apple advises cancelling a free or discounted trial at least 24 hours before it ends. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the period already paid for.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their store policies. On iOS, use reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, request a refund from your Google Play order history. We’re happy to help if a store decision looks wrong — just email us.
A refund is not the same as cancelling. Cancelling leaves the access you have already paid for in place until that period ends; a refund ends it, including for the lifetime purchase. The app re-checks with the store each time it starts and each time you return to it, so the change can take a little while to appear.
Playback & audio
- No sound: check the device isn’t muted or in silent mode, raise media volume while a sound is playing, and confirm any connected Bluetooth output is the one you expect.
- Playback stops in the background: allow Optophone to play in the background and keep its notification / media controls enabled in your OS settings; battery-saver modes can pause audio.
- Offline: procedural sounds are generated on your device and need no connection at all. Sounds built from real recordings download once on first use — until that download finishes they play silently — and afterwards they play offline too. Only cloud sync of saved mixes requires internet.
- Headphone effects: a few sounds describe a stereo effect that is most noticeable with headphones — this is an acoustic characteristic, not a setting you need to change.
Account, sync & data
An account is optional. Anonymous use is the default; signing in with Apple or Google helps recover your account, sync saved mixes, and identify your Premium access across devices. To delete your account and associated data, see the Account & Data Deletion page, which lists exactly what is removed and when.
Privacy & terms
See the Privacy Policy for how data is collected, used, and protected, and the Terms of Service for the terms that govern use of the app.
